Job Description
About Us First After School Care (FASC) is a STEAM-focused after-school program in Springfield serving students in grades K-8. We provide a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where children explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through hands-on learning and creative projects. Our program features coding, engineering challenges, science experiments, art, and engaging math enrichment designed to make learning fun. Join our team and help create a place where learning continues beyond the school day and throughout school vacations. Qualifications & Requirements Must be at least 20 years old Associate degree (2-year college degree) or higher required , preferably in Education, Child Development, or a related field Minimum 3 years of work experience in child care, education, or a related field required Experience working with school-age children preferred Must successfully complete the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC) Must complete all required EEC orientation and training First Aid and CPR certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe Strong communication, organizational, classroom management, and problem-solving skills Ability to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers Must maintain all required EEC documentation and training throughout employment Job Responsibilities Supervise and engage students in a safe, positive, and supportive environment Plan and lead age-appropriate educational and enrichment activities Support STEAM activities, including science, technology, engineering, art, and math projects Plan and lead activities according to the daily program schedule Support students' academic, social, and emotional development Assist with school vacation programs and special activities Collaborate with other educators to support individual student needs Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities Communicate professionally with families and coworkers Maintain clean, organized, and safe learning spaces Maintain safe and healthy practices at all times Follow all Massachusetts EEC regulations and company policies Perform other program-related duties as needed Additional Compensation Candidates who hold a valid Massachusetts 7D license, or who are interested in obtaining one as a backup driver, may be eligible for a higher negotiable pay rate based on qualifications and licensing status. The company may provide support with the 7D licensing process after completion of the 7D Driver Training Agreement. Schedule Monday through Friday, approximately 3:00-6:00
