JOB SUMMARY
The Operations & Member Engagement Assistant provides administrative, communications, and organizational support that enables the EDC to effectively serve its Board, committees, members, and partners. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day organizational communications, coordinating governance activities, supporting membership engagement, and serving as the primary administrative liaison for organizational operations. Reporting to the President & CEO, this position is an in-person role that serves as the organizational backbone keeping information flowing and ensuring a high-quality member experience. The EDC is an AI-receptive organization that values adaptability and technology-enabled productivity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comfort using or learning AI-assisted productivity tools and digital collaboration platforms to support project coordination, documentation, communication, and administrative efficiency.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Minimum high school diploma and/or HiSET with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role reporting directly to upper management (required). Knowledge of economic and workforce development and policy (preferred). Skills and Attributes Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience managing electronic files, shared drives, and digital document organization systems. Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, including AI-assisted tools, that enhance administrative coordination, communication, and project operations. Proficiency in scheduling tools, project management platforms, Outlook, Microsoft, Google Workspace. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience coordinating meetings, events, administrative operations. A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach with strong attention to detail. Compensation & Benefits Part-time position (15-20 hours a week); occasional local travel required. Pending funding, this position has the potential to become full time in 2027 $25-$35 an hour commensurate with experience Work Environment This position operates in a clerical, office setting. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Requirements Moderate physical effort required; frequently seated with freedom of movement. Mobility through the office is required. Normal lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel to affiliates, community functions, and training sessions. Visual and auditory activity to interact with staff and/or others regarding accounting and/or other matters. Visual activity requiring close attention to paperwork and use of computer keyboard.
