Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator Assistant will assist the programming staff with everyday activities from waterfront to ropes course. However, is mainly assigned to the waterfront. You will report directly to the Assistant Program Manager. In addition, this position will perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate and coordinate participant activities. Attend all training sessions provided for our department and maintain relevant certifications (i.e. ropes course, lifeguarding, adaptive, paddling, kayak rescue, and CPR/First aid). Enforce any and all waterfront rules and policies to maintain the safety of all guests; Ensure the waterfront is ready to be open before the scheduled waterfront activity on the schedule (boats are undamaged, in the water, all paddles, PFD's, supplies are accessible, boats are fueled up, and ready to go) and follow the opening checklist; Required to drive (vans and/or pontoon boats), must show a valid driver's license. Assist with program activities; Keep volunteers engaged and maintaining tasks at the waterfront included but not limited to: gathering necessary supplies for paddling trips, fishing, and tubing, etc; Close up the waterfront according to our closing checklist; Assist Program Coordinator Assistant with kayak safety, leading kayak trips and any/all waterfront needs; Remain flexible in daily activities: zoo, store trips, ropes course, hiking, etc. Keep up with inventory of waterfront supplies; Construct an AAR (after-action-report) at the end of the season to evaluate and recommend improvements; Work with Assistant Program Manager to coordinate training for waterfront volunteers; Other duties as needed to maintain the highest quality of standards that ensure service member, and service member family's safety and success are first priority. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Must be 21 + years old Veterans / Military spouses encouraged to apply Excellent organizational skills, communication skills and creativity Professional, polite and articulate written and verbal skills Ability to think, work strategically and forward think (what needs to be completed for the next day)
