May 10, 2026 The Court is looking for a customer service-oriented professional to join Team 36 as we being Operation Drive; a program to aid in the restoration of a valid driver's license. This is a temporary "At-Will" Non-Represented position for fifteen (15) months. We prefer at least two years of experience in a court setting or criminal justice field. Must possess a demonstrated high level of verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and engagement skills. DISTRICT COURT JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
Program Coordinator Grant Funded - Full time - At-will Position
REPORTS TO
Probation Director
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Probation Director, coordinates the Operation Drive Program. Reviews, plans, and evaluate operations specifically related to the development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of special dockets to aid in the restoration of a valid drivers license or to acquire for the first time a valid driver's license.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties :
1. Serves as a liaison between the public, offenders, the Probation Department, and the Court to ensure policies and procedures are communicated in a thorough, concise, and accurate manner. 2. Oversee referral process of potential candidates for the program. 3. Provide case guidance to participants in understanding the process to restore, apply for, or obtain a license (including preparing for tests). 4. Work with other courts, agencies, and law enforcement to clear license holds. 5. Review driving records to identify all obstacles in preventing licensure. 6. Work with courts and individuals to address outstanding tickets, pay fees and clear suspensions. 7. Attend weekly Court staffing meetings to review status or participant's progress. 8. Oversee the maintenance of records in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. 9. Works closely with staff and supervisors of the Probation Department. 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Must obtain within 30 days of appointment and maintain state Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) certification and fingerprinting requirements as mandated by MSP. 2. Obtains and maintains all required state licenses and certifications necessary to perform the functions of Specialty Court Coordinator.
J OB QUALIFICATIONS
1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Social Science, or another related field is required. 2. At least two (2) years of experience in criminal justice is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to provide accurate, timely information and communicate effectively, competently, and professionally, both orally and in writing, with Court personnel, Judges, justice system partners, and members of the public. 2. Communication skills to establish rapport with offenders to gain confidence, cooperation, and engagement. 3. Analytical skills to be able to read, understand, interpret, and apply laws, policies, rules, and procedures. 4. Ability to work independently on case assignments and understand the problems faced by families from all cultural backgrounds and economic levels. 5. Knowledge of the criminal justice system, and community resources. 6. Problem-solving, planning, and time management skills in order to prioritize and meet deadlines and the changing demands of the department and the Court.
Working Conditions:
1. Normal office environment with little discomfort due to heat, dust, noise and the like. 2. Extended workdays beyond 7.5 hours per day, evening hours, holidays, and weekends will occasionally be required, with or without notice. 3. May be required to work at remote locations outside the court building, including home calls as necessary, with travel to remote sites by foot or other transportation.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
1. Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use a keyboard and video display terminal daily. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper. Occasional lifting of objects weighing more than fifteen (15) pounds such as files, stacks of paper, references, and other materials. Moving from place to place within an office.
