Provides leadership and administrative support for governance-related functions within the Executive Office. Serves as staff liaison to the Governance Review Committee, administers NEA chartering activities, coordinates Low Membership Local processes, and serves as a resource regarding governance policies, procedures, constitutions, and bylaws. Provides recommendations and guidance to members, local leaders, staff, managers, and officers regarding governance-related matters and maintains governance records, reports, and official documentation.QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree and five years of related experience; supporting governance, compliance, membership, or executive office functions.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Possess a supportive attitude toward labor unions.
- Must reside in Michigan.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, local leaders, managers, officers, and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of governance structures, policies, procedures, constitutions, and bylaws.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply governance-related information.
- Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, meeting materials, and other business documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide recommendations regarding governance-related matters.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other applicable technology systems.
