Until filled Muskegon Public Schools anticipates six (6) Coach Position openings for the Elementary Schools. Two (2) at Glenside, two (2) at Marquette, one (1) at Bunker, one (1) at Oakview. Each Coach will be trained in and deliver an evidence based program to develop the inner strength and confidence of participating girls while increasing their physical activity level. Participants will also train and compete in a non-competitive 5K event. The program will begin mid-February and consists of 90 minute practices twice a week for 10 weeks. The mandatory 5k celebration event is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2027 at Heritage Landing!
Program Dates:
January 2027 - May 2027 10 week program (33 hours) and training & meetings (5-7 hours)
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old Running experience not required CPR and First Aid certified (training provided) Attend Girls on the Run coach training
Responsibilities:
See attached job description Serve as a role model for program participants Participate in the Celebration 5k event
Terms:
$34.08 per hour (up to 40 hours total); Temporary grant-funded position
