Job Description

The City of Sterling Heights is seeking a dynamic and organized HUD Program Coordinator! Pay starts at $38.4615/hr. Pay increases every twelve (12) months and annually on July 1st! Every other Friday off Competitive 401(a) employer contribution Medical with a

Position Summary The HUD Program Coordinator provides oversight and ongoing administration of established Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs, including oversight of housing rehabilitation project development This position oversees required reporting, maintains compliance with HUD and other applicable federal requirements, and supports related community development activities and advisory bodies. The HUD Program Coordinator Initiates new program development and outreach activities that align with overall objectives of the CDBG program and applies expertise within the core functions, including required reporting and filing of all State and Federal reports. The HUD Program Coordinator may also assist and serve as the liaison to the Citizens Advisory Committee and Housing Commission. Minimum Qualifications Associates degree, or minimum of 62 credits from an accredited college or university in Public or Business Administration or related field, is required; Bachelor's degree in public administration, construction management, planning, business administration, or a related field is preferred. At least two (2) years of experience in a community development department, human services agency, or similar government agency concerned with state or federal contract administration. Strong ability to oversee Community Development and monitor full scope housing rehabilitation projects. Previous experience in administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), or HUD funded programs, and direct housing rehab administration, is highly preferred.
