Job Summary:
The Online Program Coordinator provides support for the disciplines, programs, and assessment activities within the schools of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, and Robert W. Plaster School of Business. The Online Program Coordinator works in a collaborative nature with the academic departments and CCG, providing online program oversight that results in superior online course quality.
Essential Functions:
Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College's vision, mission and values, and contributes to the development of the Online Education Department. Practice superior customer service. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned. Display respect and civility to all constituencies in all communications. Attend work timely and on a regular basis during the established hours of operation; work additional hours as business necessitates. Manage an extensive portfolio of online courses and programs currency in light of current best practices in online education as well as trends in the disciplines. Serve as first point of contact for the dean of the school, department chairs, and faculty within the school and other constituencies. Monitor and identify program changes that will necessitate creation, revision, or discontinuation of courses. Communicate with department chairs and Online Education staff in planning how and when program changes will occur. Identify need for development, redevelopment, and course refresh work and communicate needs to instructional design staff. Collaborate with the dean department chairs, full-time faculty, instructional design staff, and course developers in the creation, revision, and implementation of courses to ensure that courses are aligned with program objectives and to identify issues and address concerns. Manage ongoing textbook updates, textbook changes, and related matters. Manage and resolve course issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with Assessment Office, deans, and department chairs to ensure assessment data is collected. Serve on internal committee(s), problem-solving teams, and/or work towards innovation.

Ability to fluently read, write, and understand the English language. Proficiency with the following, but not limited to: active listening; speaking; writing; critical thinking; judgment and decision making; monitoring; reading comprehension; time management; coordination; and management of personnel resources. Proficiency for using a variety of computer and technology-related software and equipment, including Microsoft Office products and database systems. Proficiency in using web-based technologies, including database systems. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with or without direct supervision. Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills and computer skills.
