$55,584.24 annually (plus full state benefit package) The salary indicated represents the current regular pay rate for this position. If the individual selected is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., Years of Service), it will be added to total compensation on their paycheck. A pay differential does not raise base pay. Why you'll love this position: The Missouri Department of Agriculture (MDA) Plant Industries Division, Feed Regulatory Program regulates the state's commercial feed and pet food industries through inspecting firms, sampling and testing products and providing information to consumers. The Seed Regulatory Program regulates the state's commercial seed industry through inspecting firms, sampling and testing seeds and providing information to consumers to assist in making buying decisions. Responsibilities - What you'll do Assist the Program Manager in the overall management of a Feed and Seed program; assume responsibility for cooperative agreement writing and reporting activities in the absence of the Program Manager Perform auditing procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of inspections and sample collections, recognize trends in the inspection and sampling program, and identify areas in need of corrective action Provide technical assistance and consultation to field personnel; develop and conduct program-specific training and inspector on-boarding Maintain a risk-based inspection plan for the feed program through firm assessment calculations Participate in the Missouri Rapid Response Team and maintain a coordinated emergency response plan for the feed program Identify, develop, and employ outreach activities Track and develop inspector training records and certifications Assist in the development of the feed program inspectional work plan. Evaluate and coordinate resource needs to accomplish the program inspection and sampling activities Document quarterly summary reports for FDA contact work and submit invoice Perform and maintain program self-assessments and improvement plan Attend national organization meetings and actively participate as a committee member Write and maintain inspection standard operating procedures and forms to ensure compliance with the Animal Food Regulatory Program Standards Coordinate the development of standardized training material of program inspectional procedures Coordinate the Recall Effectiveness Checks Monitor and track FDA enforcement reports for necessary recall effectiveness checks Assist Inspector Supervisor with the review of FDA inspection contract reports and submittal Lead FDA audits of the AFRPS program Other duties as assigned Qualifications - All you need for successMinimum Qualifications:
Six (6) or more years of professional or technical experience in animal nutrition, animal science, agriculture business management, food science or closely related areas. Experience can come from a combination of direct work experience and/or completion of a post-secondary degree program with an emphasis on one of the areas mentioned aboveValid Missouri Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:
