The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission . In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well. •MCC does not provide employer-paid sponsorships. Job Summary Incumbents provide comprehensive and professional administrative support, and assist with strategic planning, financial/accounting management, budget, program design, fundraising, grant management, projects, marketing and public relations for an assigned functional area. Essential Functions Provide direct services/liaison to MCC Dual Credit/Enrollment students and high school counselors Provide information to support the enrollment of students Oversee the development, distribution, collection, and review of dual credit student forms for each high school student to enroll in dual credit courses Maintain fall and spring semester spreadsheets of Dual Credit/Enrollment instructors and their classes and ensures that classes are entered into the College's Student Information system. Provide direct services/liaison to MCC staff to distribute, collect, and review dual credit faculty approval forms for each high school dual credit instructor; facilitate hiring process for each dual credit instructor Provide highly skilled assistance to executives or the Board; work may involve reviewing applications or other information to determine program eligibility or compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and requirements; and assisting with coordinating special project operations Manage an assigned budget; work may involve monitoring and authorizing program expenditures, and making and implementing recommendations related to budget processes and procedures Plan, schedule, and coordinate events, visits, programs, course and other schedules, and meetings; work may involve reserving rooms and other spaces; contacting and sending out notifications to appropriate personnel, vendors, and other agencies; maintaining calendars; monitoring staff operations; transcribing and sending out minutes; preparing meeting agendas; and administering contracts Perform customer service duties to include providing general and specific information to visitors, employees, and students via phone, email, or in person; and responding to concerns or complaints Coordinate with internal and external personnel, departments, and agencies to communicate information, serve as liaison, represent the department/College, raise funds, and facilitate departmental operations Perform office management duties to include monitoring inventory; ordering supplies; and conducting facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and availability of supplies May supervise assigned staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree• Three (3) year administrative management, student support, project management or program related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree K-12 experience •Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Knowledge of administrative program coordination principles, practices, and techniques Knowledge of program planning principles Knowledge of project coordination principles Knowledge of research methods Knowledge of budgeting principles Knowledge of troubleshooting and solving administrative program issues Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices Skilled in planning, coordinating, and implementing administrative program components and activities Skilled in analyzing processes and making recommendations for improvement Skilled in preparing analytical and statistical reports, and policy documents Skilled in ensuring compliance with applicable internal and/or external program requirements Skilled in monitoring and maintaining an administrative program budget Skilled in troubleshooting and solving program issues Skilled in monitoring and evaluating the work of lower-level staff Skilled in prioritizing and assigning work Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
