Job Description

Perfect position for someone with early morning or evening availability. Before School hours - 6am-8:15am After School Hours- 3pm-6pm Job description Plans, organizes and implements programming for youth in the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program. Works under the supervision of Youth Program Manager Essential Job Functions-Responsibilities 1. Establishes rapport with children in program. 2. Leads and assists with programming, as directed by Youth Program Manager. 3. Maintains supervision and control of children assigned to them. 4. Assists in character building such as self-discipline, resilience, work ethic and team work. 5. Able to implement and follow behavior and discipline guidelines for children enrolled in program. 6. Maintains open communication with program director and youth engagement coordinator, especially regarding youth. 7. Sets a good example and acts as a role model for children in the program while here and in the community. 8. Able to work a flexible schedule, primarily 3:30-8:30 Monday-Thursday and 3:30-6:30 on Friday. Hours differ on days that school is not in session. Job Specifications
EDUCATION
: High School Diploma or higher, preferred. High School students
LICENSURE
: Preferred valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
EXPERIENCE
: Experience working with youth, particularly in a community center environment.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
: Patience, concern for individuals, directing and redirecting youth, maintaining order and constructive discipline. Ability to relate to youth of different backgrounds.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Ability to move around the space where youth are participating, indoors and outdoors.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES
: Planning and coordinating activities. High level of problem solving ability and flexibility.
ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
: Ability to communicate effectively to large and small groups. Ability to visually and audibly supervise youth.
EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS
Typical childhood contagions, possible exposure to blood or other infectious material as defined by
OSHA. OTHER
: Ability to work flexible hours, based on needs of program. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
