Job Description
Overview:
Amivie Day Program Coordinators play a key role in supporting the daily operations and overall success of the day program. Coordinators help plan and implement engaging schedules, prepare curriculum and activity materials to ensure that staff and participants are following the daily program structure. They collaborate closely with the Program Manager and Service Line Coordinator to coordinate activities, community outings, field trips, and participant assessments while maintaining clear communication about program needs and updates. Coordinators also assist with budgeting, inventory management, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages participant engagement and independence.Responsibilities:
Meetings and Communication Check in with the Program Manager daily to discuss participant needs, staffing updates, and program operations. Attend monthly meetings with the Service Line Coordinator to review schedules, curriculum, community outings, and general program needs Communicate any schedule or activity changes to the Program Manager, especially if they involve off-site activities. Request schedule or staffing changes through the Program Manager or on-site Clinical Supervisor. Program Planning and Implementation Ensure staff and participants follow the daily schedule and activity timeframes. Develop and finalize the weekly program schedule, including classes, activities, and field trips. Submit the completed schedule to the Program Manager and Service Line Coordinator for approval by Thursday each week. Assign classrooms or activity spaces when specific groups or classes are scheduled in designated areas. Prepare and organize curriculum materials and activity supplies needed for each day/activity. Review lesson materials in advance to ensure activities run smoothly. Lead and facilitate lessons, model positive engagement, and promote participation. Encourage participants to lead activities and take active roles in the program. Foster a welcoming environment by being inclusive, encouraging, and enthusiastic. Community Outings and Field Trips Coordinate and facilitate community outings and field trips such as bowling, community service, or local events 2 x per week. Contact local businesses and organizations to identify potential field trip opportunities Act as the primary representative of the program during community activities. All community outings must be approved by the Program Manager. Budget and Purchasing Manage and track the monthly petty cash budget responsibly. Submit all purchase receipts to the Program Manager Submit monthly activity supply orders to the Service Line Coordinator Inventory and Supplies Monitor and track program inventory and activity supplies. Ensure materials align with scheduled curriculum and activities. Notify the Program Manager when facility supplies are needed (e.g., paper towels, wipes, trash bags). Program Support and Participant Engagement Assist the Program Manager with family tours and program introductions. Conduct assessment days for prospective participants and provide a summary to the Program Manager. Maintain a strong understanding of Amivie SPARK curriculum, program activities, and community opportunities. Ensure participants are prepared and supported for each scheduled activity. Compliance and Professional Expectations Follow all Amivie policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Support the Program Manager in the completion of monthly safety drills Adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Direct Support Professional job description. Maintain professionalism while supporting the mission and values of the Amivie Day Program.Qualifications:
18yrs of age or older high school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's license Six months experience working in a day program setting is preferredSimilar remote jobs
