EC Program Specialist Cabarrus County Schools - 3.9 Concord, NC Job Details Full-time 20 hours ago Qualifications School experience Professional development facilitation in schools Bachelor's degree Classroom experience Working with students with special education needs Classroom Teaching Full Job Description General Definition of Work Provides instructional and behavioral support across all schools, with a primary focus on students eligible for Exceptional Children (EC) services. Responsibilities include classroom and curriculum coaching, professional development for staff, providing beginning teacher support, targeted student interventions, and behavior support to promote academic and social success. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Salary 10-moth position, Based on North Carolina Teaching Salary Schedule Reports to Exceptional Children Director Essential Functions Assist case managers to create case management procedures Conduct classroom visits, provide feedback and coaching Observe students to identify strategies to improve learning, behavior, teaching, etc. Assist teachers and schools with Federal, state and local EC policies, procedures, and practices Utilize technology for training and teacher support Remain current on instructional best practices (curriculum, strategies, assessments, data, etc.) Assist with fidelity of program implementation Complete fidelity and data collection tasks as assigned Develop and provide Professional Development Provide ongoing monitoring and training to beginning teachers Organize and lead program specific PLCs Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of strategies, methodologies, philosophies, and curriculums for students who access both the Standard Course of Study curriculum and Extended Content Standard curriculum. Coaching and consultation with school personnel to support specially designed instruction, specific interventions, data collection, modeling, and progress monitoring. Collaboration and problem-solving skills to address students with unique needs with school administrators, general education teachers, EC staff, and related services personnel. Design and deliver high-quality professional development sessions tailored to specialized groups as well as all school staff, ensuring relevance and effectiveness. Effectively manage schedules and prioritize tasks across multiple school sites to ensure timely and consistent support for staff and students. Education Experience Bachelor's degree with coursework in special education, or related field. Master's degree preferred North Carolina Teacher Certification, or State Licensure in related field At least 3-5 years experience as an EC Teacher Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Work regularly requires standing and speaking or hearing, frequently requires walking, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
