Job Description
Position Overview:
This position supports student learning and engagement within a structured classroom in a short-term suspension/restorative practice setting. This role focuses on minimizing academic disruption, building students' skills in emotional regulation, decision-making, and personal responsibility. Core programming includes curriculum components grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Project Toward No Drug Abuse (PTND).
This position supports students in maintaining academic progress by coordinating with home school teachers, reinforcing assigned coursework, and providing targeted academic assistance to promote successful completion and submission of assignments. Working within a team-based model, the facilitator responds flexibly to student and program needs while maintaining a structured, supportive, and consistent learning environment focused on accountability and student growth.
The ideal candidate is a hardworking, highly organized, self-directed, proactive professional who can operate with a high level of independence while maintaining strong accountability.
This individual builds meaningful, respectful relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education, or a human services related field
Experience working with adolescents, particularly those engaged in high-risk behaviors or alternative education settings
Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with high-risk or alternative education populations
Experience working in a school setting
Experience in substance use prevention, intervention, or health education
Experience delivering structured social-emotional learning or evidence-based behavioral curricula
Experience in alternative education, restorative practices, or school-based intervention programs
Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate curriculum to support student growth in emotional regulation, decision-making, communication, and personal responsibility
Support academic progress and coordinate with student's home school teachers and support continuity of learning and reduce learning loss during student suspension
Provide targeted academic support and monitor progress to ensure coursework completion
Establish and maintain a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment
Support strong classroom management practices that promote respect, accountability, and structure
Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents/guardians, school staff, and program team members to support student success
Deliver curriculum and provide program coverage when the primary facilitator is absent Build positive, professional relationships with students
Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student attendance, participation, interventions, and progress
Demonstrate professional responsibility, including punctuality, preparedness, and adherence to assigned schedules
Uphold program expectations and district policies with consistency to ensure fidelity of implementation
Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times Provide small group and individualized student support as needed
Contribute as an active member of the program team to ensure consistent operations, safety, and student success

Additional Information:
This is a temporary, part-time, 10-month position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon funding.
Schedule:
25 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM, with some flexibility
This position follows the CCS academic calendar for students
Employees in this position are subject to a 90-day introductory period. At the conclusion of this period, a formal performance review will be conducted. Continued employment is contingent upon successful performance in the areas of effectiveness, reliability, professionalism, and alignment with program expectations.
The facilitator is expected to adhere to all Board of Education policies.
