Job Description Position:
District EC Program Specialist Reports to:
Director of Exceptional Children Terms of Employment:
10+1 months
Pay Grade:
Central Office Administrator Scale (commensurate with experience plus local supplement)
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt Duties and Responsibilities Provide collaboration and support to Exceptional Children Teachers Assist in scheduling EC students to receive optimum services in the least restrictive environment and to best coordinate with the regular education schedule Assist selected teachers with scheduling of IEP meetings for caseload Provide targeted compliance intervention as requested by the EC Director Mentor EC teachers for assigned schools Coordinate with Transportation and therapists regarding the addition/removal of EC students assigned to EC buses Monitor compliance for transportation as a related service in
CECAS/ECATS
Serve as a resource for providing assistance with special issues Collaborate with Administrators regarding teacher and parent concerns to include compliance requirements Participate in IEP meetings that require fiscal distribution of funds, legal meetings, or state complain meetings. Provide assistance to all stakeholders to include phone calls, emails, training, etc. Participate in EC Cabinet meetings Work in collaboration with others to develop, facilitate, and monitor processes Participate in and/ or manage NCSIP grant requirements Participate in short and long-term planning, data collection Assist with Child Counts and LEA self-assessment continuous improvement Assist with development and presentation of staff development opportunities
Education and Experience:
Teaching certification in Special Education Master's degree preferred but not required 7-10 years teaching experience Extensive knowledge of IDEA and working students with disabilities.
