Job Description

Job Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. Serves as the DNV Primary Stroke Certification (PSC) subject matter expert Coordinates and facilitates the DNV Primary Stroke Certification Survey in collaboration with the quality manager and the Stroke Program Medical Director. Responsible for management of daily tele-specialist consults utilizing telehealth mobile cart devices. Ensures successful recertification surveys and accurate, timely post-survey activities in collaboration with quality manager. Facilitates the Stroke Committee Drives program performance improvement to meet the requirements of the certification program. Utilizes resources to ensure policies and procedures related to the stroke program are evidence-based and demonstrate best-practice Develops, facilitates, or collaborates with education or others to provide stroke-related education to staff, providers and others to meet the PSC education requirements Participates in the formal orientation and training of new staff members and providers related to the stroke program Collaborates with the stroke program medical director and/or stroke team to provide stroke-related community education to meet or exceed the PSC requirements Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to tele-stroke Maintains nursing competencies, as appropriate, to meet or exceed PSC requirements and to support the patient care team Other duties as consistent with this role. Job Requirements Job Knowledge and Skills Experience with stroke certification standards preferred Current computer skills, graphics, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Current knowledge of clinical processes and operations in a health care system Critical thinking and communication skills Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing RN with minimum five years of clinical experience BSN preferred Member of a relevant national organization preferred Stroke certification preferred or within 6 months of hire Hospital Quality / Performance Improvement / Patient Safety experience required preferred Covenant Health Mission Statement We are a Catholic health ministry, providing healing and care for the whole person, in service to all in our communities.
