JOB GOAL
The District Attendance Officer focuses on monitoring and promoting regular school attendance. The efforts of this position aim to minimize absenteeism by identifying patterns, addressing concerns and implementing strategies that encourage consistent student presence. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, it also requires working closely with the Teacher Coordinator of School Improvement to ensure all stake holders understand and work collaboratively with school-wide student attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma preferred; college-level coursework in human behavior, child development, or related fields desirable.
Experience working in a multicultural urban environment.
Knowledge of state student attendance laws, child welfare regulations and compulsory education laws and regulations.
Strong interpersonal, written communication and math skills.
Proficient in a variety of current technologies and Microsoft office platform (i.e.-Word, Excel, etc.) and Google platform.
Knowledge of using software for tracking and reporting attendance data.
Experience in an educational setting, student and parent services and/or specialized training focused on attendance and student engagement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, in the English language.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
