Summary The Group Facilitator is a vital member of our clinical team, responsible for planning, leading, and managing therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for clients in our outpatient program. The ideal candidate will have experience in group facilitation, particularly within the fields of mental health and substance abuse. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, and the ability to create a safe, supportive, and engaging group environment.
Schedule Availability Full Time:
Monday-Friday, 8AM-4
PM Key Responsibilities Group Leadership:
Facilitate a variety of therapeutic groups, including but not limited to, process groups, skills-based groups (e.g., Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)), relapse prevention, and psychoeducational sessions.
Curriculum Development:
Plan and prepare group sessions, including developing and adapting curriculum based on client needs, program goals, and evidence-based practices.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for all group sessions, including progress notes, attendance records, and incident reports, in compliance with all organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Client Engagement:
Create a dynamic and interactive group atmosphere that encourages client participation, fosters mutual respect, and promotes the development of coping skills and personal growth.
Crisis Management:
Effectively manage group dynamics and intervene appropriately in crisis situations or during emotional distress within a group setting.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other team members, including therapists, case managers, and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive and integrated client care.
Professional Development:
Stay current with best practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment through ongoing training and professional development. Qualifications Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, required; LSW, LAC, LPC, or LCSW licensure preferred. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups, specifically for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Minimum of 1-3 years of direct clinical experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting (e.g., outpatient, inpatient, residential). Demonstrated ability to apply various therapeutic modalities within a group context. An ability to listen actively, show empathy, and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
