Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator II (Civic Education) for the Eagleton Institute of Politics. The Program Coordinator II will create opportunities to strengthen democracy at Rutgers University. The Center for Youth Political Participation celebrates and supports political learning and engagement among young people through research, public service and education, driven by the potential impact of Gen Z on American democracy. Comprised of longstanding signature programs; RU Ready, RU Voting, and the Young Elected Leaders Project, CYPP encourages young adults to see themselves as part of the political process at all stages of life. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Assists with the coordination, implementation, and expansion of the Lab's Center for Youth Political Participation. Supports the RDL's efforts to create a culture of civic learning across campus, including by building strategic partnerships, coordinating a visiting scholars program, and communicating lessons to a wider audience. Supports the Center for Youth and Political Participation (CYPP) at the Rutgers Democracy Lab and help integrate its programs into the wider mission of the Rutgers Democracy Lab and Eagleton Institute of Politics. We are a collaborative team. On occasion, all members are asked to participate in Institute-wide and/or cross-team project

37.50 Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. ABP Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in political science, communications, or a related field, and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program coordination, organization, facilitation, and social media promotion/outreach. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good communication, interpersonal skills and computer literacy. Ability to be very organized, efficient, detail oriented and self-driven. Experience with social media outreach. Comfortable working for an organization that is political yet non-partisan and straddles the worlds of politics and academia. Preferred Qualifications Program coordination and event logistics experience in a nonprofit space, as well experience supervising undergraduate students. Experience with community organizing. Equipment Utilized Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Planner, etc.), email programs such as Civi CRM, website editing (Wordpress, Drupal, etc), social media tools and pages., Canva, and Rutgers management platforms Physical Demands and Work Environment Eagleton offices are located within a historic building with no elevator. The duties of this position regularly involve navigating stairs numerous times a day. Special Conditions This position requires availability to work evenings occasionally during the academic year and some weekends. Please note that this position is paid from a five-year gift, and continuation is contingent upon available funds.
