FAMILY SERVICES COORDINATOR
FT/REGULAR NE

DEFINITION
The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide casework services to families needing guidance in parenting issues while assisting in promoting safe and stable families.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work is performed under the direction of the Social Services Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
No Supervisory Duties.
DUTIES:
Provides casework and guidance services to families regarding family issues.
  • Assesses family dynamics to determine services needed by the family.
  • Provides guidance and support to families on parenting issues, household management, child abuse and neglect, traditional values and beliefs.
  • Provides individual or group education to families with children at high risk for out-of-home placement to strengthen families and promote reunification.
  • Documents and maintains all contact notes made with families to ensure adequate record keeping of all documentation, court orders, reports and narratives.
  • Assists families in understanding court processes.
  • Works with other Social Service staff in the development and implementation of family service plans and monitoring the progress of programs and clientele.
  • Conducts continuous home visits throughout the duration of the open case.
  • Implement a visitation calendar and monitor visitations to work towards reunification with the goal to improve parent and child relationships.
  • Submit court documents for court ordered cases in a timely manner Develops and implements culturally appropriate methods of prevention and intervention for families at risk.
  • Facilitate parenting sessions using a culturally appropriate curriculum
  • Collaborate and coordinate with programs to implement traditional and cultural-related parenting and child-rearing practices.
  • Educate families to reinforce the importance of family reunification by providing culturally relevant trainings or workshops. Serves as a link between Tribal Programs, Schools and Community.
  • Collaborates with local Tribal Programs, Schools and other service providers to coordinate services for clients.
  • Identifies community resources for families.
  • Advocates for families needing services and ensures service plans are linked with community resources.
  • Conducts presentations to programs and schools regarding services of the program. Serves as a participant in other activities that support preservation of families.
  • Serves as a participant on the Child Protective Team.
  • Performs on-call duty, as scheduled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of education techniques, human behavior and childhood development. Knowledge of principles guiding family preservation. Good knowledge of child rearing practices and Zuni tradition relating to family structure, including human behavior. Knowledge of case management procedures and maintenance of records and documents. Good public speaking skills. Ability to work with children and families one on one while providing mediation for the family dynamic. Competency in communicating clearly and effectively in Zuni and English. Capacity to write narrative reports and case files. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all Tribal employees, clients and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree in Human Services or a closely related field and two (2) years of progressive work experience in a social and/or human services OR High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of progressive work experience in social and/or human services.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATES
Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License with no DWI/DUI convictions within the past three (3) years. Must be insurable for liability purposes. Driving is an essential part of the duties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform work. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is subject to Pre-Employment drug testing. Position is Safety Sensitive and will be subject to random drug screening for duration of employment. Must undergo and successfully pass a thorough background investigation including FBI Fingerprint Check. Work will be conducted within homes of clients to provide home-based counseling services. DEFINITION
The purpose of the position is responsible for managing staff and operations of services for the program. Responsible for development and oversight, administering and budget control and administrative activities of the Fish and Wildlife Program.

IV. DUTIES
Administer daily operations of the program, including leadership and direction in planning, organizing, and coordinating wildlife and fisheries management activities.
  • Administers contracts and agreements with consultants, and federal and state agencies.
  • Conducts surveys for game and non-game and wildlife of importance to the Tribe.
  • Manages reservation wildlife, including system of sustainable sport and religious hunting and fishing.
  • Administers the Eagle Sanctuary.
  • Arrange for transfer of birds.
  • Manage health care and safety of eagles.
  • Plan and organize feather distribution.
  • Manage the maintenance and operation of the eagle aviary.
  • Assisting with operations of the Satellite Eagle Sanctuaries.
  • Facilitates the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all grounds and equipment in designated areas of operations.
  • Oversees the annual Tribal Big Game Hunting Proclamation, Public Hunting Proclamation and annual Small Game, Waterfowl and Furbearer Proclamations.
  • Generate general work assignments of all wildlife and fisheries activities to meet program performance objectives.
  • Serves as liaison for the Tribe with internal/external agencies and other entities involved with the program to discuss specific issues relating to wildlife and fisheries management.
  • Consults with the designated staff to ascertain and define needs or problem areas that require specific, focused attention, and determine appropriate means to obtain solution.
  • Conduct public meetings on Fish and Wildlife Program services and issues. Manages and administers fiscal management operations of the program and/or agreements to ensure funds are used appropriately, adequate documentation of transactions is maintained, and assets are safeguarded.
  • Prepares budgets, budget revisions and scope of work for submittal on an annual basis and as need for revision.
  • Reviews and approves all expenditures for the program to ensure accuracy of the cuff account and ensure funding is available to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates activities of project through delegated subordinates and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, reconciliation, and monitoring of the programs cuff account on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares and submits reports on the status, annual reports, activity reports and plans for current and future operations.
  • Plans, implements or amends the Plan of Operation as deemed necessary.
  • Prepares grants for additional funding sources in order to develop new services.
  • Ensure grant information is being collected within the program to submit for funder reporting.
  • Prepares and submits funding applications to various agencies for continued operations of the program.
  • Prepares and submits written progress reports to funding agencies, and/or Tribal Administrator.
  • Gathers and analyzes program statistical data and evaluating areas for improvement. Monitors program activities, program objectives and compliance with all contracts and other applicable regulations to management effectiveness of programs and the efficient use of resources.
  • Monitors and conducts performance evaluations of all supervised staff according to personnel policies.
  • Monitors trainings and certifications of staff to ensure all individual development plans are in place in accordance to related position descriptions.
  • Develops and revises standard operating procedures for structure and activities under the program.
  • Conducts and monitors overall quality of services and performance of staff. Directly supervise and coordinate program activities to perform program goals and objectives to complying with all funded contracts and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplish staff position results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and complaint resolution.
  • Accomplish program objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standard operating procedures and adhering to personnel policies and procedures.
  • Monitors operation of the program by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operation problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.

  • Conduct staff meetings to enhance communication among staff related to program goals and objectives.

DEFINITION
The primary responsibility of this position will be to respond to emergency and non-emergency situations to administer basic or advanced emergency medical care and assess injuries and illnesses.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work is performed under the immediate supervision of a ranked shift supervisor, with indirect supervision from the Captain or Chief.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
No supervisory duties.
DUTIES:
Performs basic and advanced level of care outlined in the Paramedic scope of practice.
  • Conducts interfacility transports, including but not limited to: overdose, automobile collisions, heart attacks, respiratory problems, and epileptic seizures.
  • Performs Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support including finding and recording vital signs, initializing a patient assessment, performing supplying oxygen, controlling bleeding, wound care, splinting, cardiac monitoring, intravenous puncture, emergency childbirth.
  • Acts in the capacity as the lead medical officer when present at a medical incident or emergency.
  • Disperses and maintains record of paramedic approved medication, narcotics, and/or inhalation/Intravenous therapy.
  • Initiates and physically handles safe movement of patients; continues patient care while transporting to healthcare facilities.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation on patient care, assessments and all service reports in a timely manner.
  • Assesses the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed in the need for assistance.
  • Assists in extricating patients from entrapment, assesses the extent of injury, and uses prescribed techniques and appliances as the need arises, provides light rescue service if required.
  • Initiates intravenous fluids to administer medication or drugs, following established protocols or physician orders.
  • Coordinates emergency scenes with other public safety entities utilizing the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Participates in EMS and Fire related in-service training and demonstrations.
  • Assists in community education programs in injury prevention and selected community health services, including vaccinations for the community.
  • Engages in formal and informal courses relative to emergency medical services, operation of automated medical equipment, firefighting equipment, learning of firefighting techniques and practices.
  • Participates in presentations to all schools and community events.
  • Participate in department physical fitness requirements. Performs routine maintenance (not requiring a mechanic) on emergency vehicles.
  • Checks emergency vehicles for operational readiness including fluid levels, tires, belts hoses, communication and electrical equipment.
  • Ensures cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Cleans and washes the interior and exterior.
  • Disinfect vehicles before and after each transport.
  • Restocks a variety of supplies in the emergency vehicles. Maintains duty station work areas and living quarters in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties.
  • Washes and cleans response vehicles after use and periodically as the need arises.
  • Occasionally will clean fire hoses and firefighting equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly uniform and all program issued equipment. Basic Structural firefighting awareness and techniques.
  • Preventing, combating and extinguishing fires with the goal of protecting lives, the environment and property.
  • Analyzing hazardous situations and thinking of quick solutions and actions.
  • Teaching and participating in training classes and drills.
  • Performs fire apparatus checks, checking of firefighting equipment, ensures vehicle operations readiness.
  • Responsible for maintaining personal firefighting gear and breathing (SCBA) is in good working condition at all times.
  • Engages in formal and informal courses related to firefighting equipment, learning of firefighting techniques.
