TSL Adventures, almost two decades in the business, is on the lookout for a strong head of class for our school-age room in Delmar, NY. The hours preferrably are 7-9 a.m. and 2:30-5:30 M-F. Potential candidates ideally would have experience working in recreational programs with children, in particular leadership positions, whether summer camp or after school.

Candidates should also:

Be naturally excited with enhancing curriculum with exciting and high interest games and activities for children. Be able to use a prescribed curriculum for planning and implementation Have an understanding or ability to set the stage for successful community building within classroom size groups of children. Understand the developmental differences between the age groups Be able to manage staff on the job and provide constructive feedback Be creative with using the community after school space Potentially be looking to grow with the company and get more information on school-age credentialing Be relatable to children ages 5-12 Great with parent communications Be able to shop for program needs Be reliable TSL does provide training on after school program structure, and do offer an annual curriculum created by the company, as well as on the job support from company ownership and center directors. If you have not worked in childcare in over two years, or if your qualifications do not reflect relevance to the position. We are looking for people who operate in the field already, understand it, love it, and who can convince us they would be a great asset to us in the job role.
