Our programs help men & women learn new skills, build relationships, help develop self-esteem by volunteering as well as discover interests and improve their social skills. Our Activities Specialist will ensure compliance for the Day programs in the areas of COMPASS, CQL, and regulatory guidelines. The Activities Specialist will also be responsible for seeking out and scheduling community opportunities for Day Habilitation individuals, as well as maintaining excellent public relations with Community Sites. Specifically, you will: Serve as program representative and liaison for CQL (Commission on Quality Leadership) by remaining active and up to date in CQL certifications and trainings, supervising personnel on CQL Philosophy trainings, conducting CQL interviews on program participants as needed, and acting as the point person to schedule interviews and all other CQL-related events. Assist with special events by developing job opportunities, promoting interactive days, and creating flyers. Attend Executive Council, CQL, SANYS, and agency-wide COMPASS meetings. Train staff on COMPASS-related information. Maintain CHS Council and Bulletin Boards in Plainview/Freeport and act as the point person to schedule all COMPASS/ CQL and day program employee engagement-related events. Maintain and write the Day Hab connections newsletter, monthly activity workbook, and write the monthly updates of all Day Hab sites for the monthly Day Hab report for the AHRC board of directors. Present and distribute a monthly calendar of all Community Sites, Activities, and Events for prior submission/approval to the direct supervisor and organize a schedule for all hub site fundraisers in the day program. Submit Bi-Annual CHS Council report, take pictures, and submit stories for the newsletter and community resource social media. Maintain and manage spreadsheets of all community volunteer jobs for the program. Manage receipts and purchases for recreation grants through CR, and submit updates to the department. Attend the recreation events to ensure that they run smoothly.
