If you are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of families and helping to strengthen community ties, we encourage you to continue reading. The Parenting Inside Out (PIO) Coach will support justice-involved parents and their families by delivering evidence-based parenting education and fostering family connections. This role is essential in helping parents enhance their parenting skills, maintain ongoing contact with their children, and reduce recidivism rates through comprehensive support. Essential Responsibilities Facilitate group sessions for justice-involved parents, focusing on effective parenting strategies and skills. Work with participants to create personalized parenting plans that address individual needs and circumstances. Encourage and support ongoing communication between parents and their children to mitigate the negative effects of incarceration. Assess participants' progress and provide ongoing support, motivation, and feedback throughout their parenting journey. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to support for each participant. Maintain accurate records of participant progress, program outcomes (including pre- and post-surveys), and any necessary reports for evaluation purposes. Attend weekly meetings with agency staff Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred. Experience in parenting education, family support, or working with justice-involved individuals is highly desired. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by justice-involved parents and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Compassionate, non-judgmental, and patient demeanor. Must own a reliable car Must undergo four background screenings in order to access carceral facilities located in NYC and NYS Preferred Skills Knowledge of evidence-based parenting practices and child development. Proficiency in program development and implementation. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to engage and inspire participants, fostering a sense of hope and empowerment. Experience engaging with justice-impacted parents. Personal understanding of the benefits of a parenting program, either through personal experience or as a caregiver. An attitude of service.
