Job Description
Summary:
LifePath seeks a creative, energetic, self-directed individual to serve as the Watervliet Program Manager. The Watervliet Program Manager will manage the day-to-day operation of the Watervliet Senior Center.Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (30 hours per week) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.- Make Watervliet Senior Center "the place to be" for older adults by ensuring that everyone involved in the center is committed to creating a warm, welcoming, fun, and supportive environment.
- Recruit and effectively supervise friendly and welcoming volunteers to help with various aspects of running the center, including but not limited to checking people in, helping to serve the daily meals, running programs, helping with the various fundraisers, etc.
- Work collaboratively with LifePath staff, community partners, and program participants to bring relevant and meaningful programs and classes, including high-quality cultural, educational, wellness, and recreational programs to Watervliet and, if applicable, to other senior centers and meal sites.
- Conduct special events, including holiday parties, center-based fundraisers and "town-hall" meetings.
- Complete and submit all written and electronic documentation required for funding sources in a timely manner, including but not limited to all the required paperwork for the congregate meal.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general upkeep of the office, kitchen, and all other spaces used by LifePath.
- Provide staff support to agency-wide initiatives or projects as requested by the Executive Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Watervliet Program Manager has direct oversight of volunteers supporting the operation of the senior centers.Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.- Experiencing working with older adults preferred
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting, training and supervising a volunteer workforce preferred
- Ability to engage others by projecting enthusiasm, high energy and positivity required
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to facilitate groups and presentations
- Attention to detail and the ability to track large amounts of data required
- Proven track record in securing, developing and delivering creative, memorable and fun programs for older adults highly desirable
