Job Description

The Cleveland Chesed Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Program Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations. Major responsibilities include office administration, scheduling, employee management, volunteer oversight, all client-facing initiatives, and warehouse compliance (health and safety). This is a full-time salaried position requiring a balance of supervisory responsibilities with hands-on support during coverage gaps and high-volume times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary manager for operations including, but not limited to, inventory ordering and control, scheduling, cost containment, and monitoring compliance and safety standards. Establishes warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse. Oversees client-facing programs including monthly distributions, weekly distributions, and supplemental programming. Manages the relationships with the Greater Cleveland Foodbank and Shoes and Clothes for kids and other partnering organizations to ensure compliance. Orders and tracks all products for distribution programs. Determines product selections for various programs and works with the Director to source the best pricing and availability. Registers clients for auxiliary programs and oversees the distribution of program offerings. Oversees and makes recommendations about client referrals to various supportive services. Attends JFSA staff meetings and works with other department heads to ensure client needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner. Coordinates proper onboarding, scheduling and placement of volunteers to ensure adequate volunteer and staffing coverage. Hires, trains, and supervises support staff. Develops material donation policies and procedures Performs direct support work as needed on the floor to assist daily operations. Demonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Education/Training and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Related college degree preferred Minimum of three years' experience in operations, preferably in a non-profit environment Computer, database, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office experience required. Three years of experience in a not-for-profit or social service setting preferred. Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding financial distress, its impact on individuals, families, and communities. Knowledgeable of best practices to most effectively serve individuals and communities impacted. Case management experience and/or knowledge/understanding of mental health preferred Ability to operate a forklift Willingness to be flexible to do what is needed to support the operations of the division. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent judgment and ability to manage a high-volume operation. Strong detail and accuracy orientation. Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logistics Ability to use warehouse tools and equipment safely. Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills

Excellent time management skills, organizational and coordination skills and ability to work with little or no supervision and successfully manage multiple priorities.
