Job Description
Mission Supported:
Support Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) research and acquisition portfolios by managing the execution of technical projects in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) 5000-series acquisition directives and Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards.Responsibilities include:
- Managing cost, schedule, performance, and risk across assigned programs within the approved Acquisition Program Baseline (APB).
- Developing, maintaining, and analyzing resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) using Microsoft Project.
- Monitoring program health through cost and schedule variance analysis and supporting Program Management Reviews (PMRs), milestone reviews, and executive briefings.
- Executing risk, issue, and opportunity (RIO) management processes and developing mitigation strategies.
- Creating and maintaining acquisition documentation, including APBs, milestone decision briefings, RFP documentation, Statements of Work (SOWs), CDRLs, source-selection materials, and program reports.
- Supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts by maintaining SysML models within Magic Cameo environments.
- Coordinating program communications, task management, stakeholder engagement, and on-time response to Government taskings.
- Providing leadership, mentorship, and oversight of program management activities across multiple research and development efforts.

- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Management certification Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
- Experience managing DoD acquisition, research, development, or technical programs using DoD 5000-series processes and PMBOK methodologies.
- Experience with cost and schedule management, integrated master scheduling, earned value/variance analysis, and program performance reporting.
- Experience supporting or managing Special Access Programs (SAP); ability to obtain and maintain required SAP access.
- Experience developing acquisition and source-selection documentation, including APBs, RFPs, SOWs, CDRLs, and milestone review packages.
- Familiarity with DoD Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management practices.
- Experience using Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote).
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, and Magic Cameo preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and lead program execution in a fast-paced DoD environment.
