Job Description

MCCA is a small non-profit located in SW Portland. While our program is small it provides plenty of opportunity. We encourage our teachers to share their passions with our students through teacher-led activities and special interest clubs. Our teachers work in teams of two. We understand that working with kids can provide many challenges and management is always on-site to provide support.
After School Hours:
2:00 pm - 6:30 pm Teachers will be given an additional 1.5 hours per week to prep.
Qualifications:
We are licensed through the Oregon Early Learning Division and Teachers must meet the following qualifications: A minimum of 1-year qualifying teaching experience in a certified childcare center or comparable group program, working with children ages 5-12. A combination of 10 quarter credits or 15-semester credits at a college or university (in elementary education, child development, early childhood education, special education, or recreation) AND 6 months of teaching experience in a certified childcare center or comparable group program, working with children ages 5-12. Step 8 in the Oregon Registry Job Duties Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children ages 5-12, using a variety of methods and materials. Develop and maintain relationships with children, families, team members, and program partners. Maintain a healthy and stimulating environment. Maintain accurate records and program documentation. Mentor and supervise program aides. Complete 15 hours of professional development training annually.
