Building Principal and/or District AdministratorPOSITION SUMMARY
Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an elementary summer learning program. Ensures alignment with grant requirements, a strong focus on literacy acceleration, and full compliance with reporting and equity expectations. Coordinates with community partners and enrichment providers to design and facilitate engaging opportunities—including field trips and special activities—through effective scheduling, logistics, communication, and program oversight. Supports the goals of the Oregon Department of Education summer learning grant and district instructional priorities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure full implementation of program requirements outlined by the Oregon Department of Education grant. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of program activities, student participation, and services provided. Coordinate collection of required data (e.g., attendance, demographics, assessment results). Monitor student progress toward academic goals, particularly in literacy development. Prepare and submit required reports to district leadership and the Oregon Department of Education. Use data to refine programming and improve outcomes in future years. Ensure equitable access for priority student groups identified in the grant (e.g., students below benchmark, historically underserved populations). Promote inclusive and culturally responsive practices Monitor participation to ensure target populations are effectively served. Align instruction and interventions with district goals and state literacy priorities. Support the use of evidence-based instructional practices. Coordinate with school-year staff to ensure continuity of learning for participating students. Support tracking and monitoring of grant-funded expenditures. Ensure materials, staffing, and services align with the approved grant budget. Develop and manage daily and weekly schedules for academic and enrichment activities. Align programming with grade-level standards and grant requirements. Select and/or support implementation of instructional materials and curriculum. Assist in hiring, training, and coordinating summer program staff (teachers and educational assistants). Provide support for classroom management and effective instructional practices. Oversee student enrollment and placement. Monitor attendance, participation, and engagement. Support interventions for students needing additional academic or behavioral support. Communicate program details, expectations, and updates with families. Respond to parent/guardian questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Manage daily program operations (arrival/dismissal, schedules, transitions). Coordinate meals, transportation, and facility use, as applicable. Ensure compliance with district policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Maintain confidentiality of student records and school-related information in accordance with district policy and privacy laws. Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Act as a mandatory reporter and immediately report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state law and district procedures. Follow all district policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement(s). Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to pass required background and fingerprint checks. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening (UA test) if required by the district. Preferred Previous elementary teaching experience. Prior leadership, coordination, or program management experience. Experience with literacy instruction, intervention, or summer learning programs. Experience working with diverse student populations.WORKING CONDITIONS
School environment with frequent interaction with students, staff, and families. Temporary summer contract position, typically operating for approximately four weeks. Additional planning or training time may be required prior to program start. Requires daily on-site attendance and supervision during program dates. Requires standing, walking, and active movement throughout the day. May include indoor and outdoor supervision and responding to student behavioral or emotional needs.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Work year, wages, hours, and benefits are governed by the applicable licensed collective bargaining agreement, if applicable. Continued employment is contingent upon successful background and fingerprint clearance, passing any required pre-employment drug screening, and maintenance of required licensure.Position Type:
