Full-time Overview Function:
Program Coordinator plans, schedules, supervises and participates in all camp activities, ensuring adherence to the camp's Christian mission and fostering a spiritual environment for campers and staff. Key responsibilities include activity planning, staff mentorship and training, managing spiritual formation, overseeing program equipment and supplies, budget management, and performing general administrative tasks to create a positive and safe experience for all. Essential qualifications include a strong, active Christian faith, leadership skills, and a passion for youth ministry in a Christian camping setting.

Camp Administrator Key Qualifications 1.
Christian Commitment:
An active, faithful Christian life and a deep commitment to the camp's spiritual mission and values. Someone with great love and compassion for people of all ages and a great love for the outdoors. Outgoing and charismatic 2.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and motivate others, work effectively in a team, and serve as a positive role model. 3.
Experience:
Experience in camping, youth ministry, or related leadership roles. A college graduate or someone with equivalent life/work experience An individual with basic computer skills and some knowledge of basic video/photo editing software. Able to lift 40 pounds without injury to self or others. 4.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with campers, parents, staff, and other stakeholders. 5.
Flexibility & Initiative:
The ability to adapt to changing situations, take initiative, and assist in various areas of camp operations. Support any overnight requirements deemed necessary for the program. Have a willingness to be Certified in the following, and/ or able to oversee those who are certified in providing programming: o First Aide/ CPR/ AED o Lifeguard/ Waterfront supervision o Climbing wall/ Challenge course Key Responsibilities 1.
Program Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and implement a schedule of spiritual, recreational, and educational activities, including theme-based programs and special events.
Summer Camp:
a. Hiring staff b. Providing for leadership training through CIT program c. Recruit volunteer nurses and pastors for each week of camp Winter Camp a. Organize and recruit volunteers.
  • Participate in the planning of new retreat ideas and execution of same that fulfill the mission of Camp Eder such as:
  • Any and all events planned by Camp Administrator, Nurture Committee, or Board of Directors.
Examples:
Young Adult Backpack Adventure, Senior Citizen Days, Fall Festival, Christmas Tree Festival, Etc. 2.
Spiritual Development:
  • Lead and participate in daily faith practices, maintain a spiritual tone, and mentor staff in developing their Christian leadership qualities.

Staff Leadership & Training:
  • Train, supervise, and mentor summer staff and counselors, providing them with the skills and spiritual guidance to lead campers effectively.
  • Responsible for overseeing Summer Camp Staff, volunteers, and additional programing staff.
  • Coordinating and providing leadership to volunteers and program staff, as needed, for Camp Eder programs.
  • Selects curriculum for use in the summer camp programs in consultation with the Camp Administrator.
  • Hires and trains program staff for summer camp and other program offerings of Camp Eder 4.
Logistics & Operations:
  • Manage program equipment and supplies, ensure cleanliness and organization, and assist with daily operational tasks and administrative duties.
  • The Program Coordinator will always act in a fiscally responsible manner when making decisions that impact Camp Eder, when hiring and training program staff, either temporary or permanent.
  • Other duties as assigned and agreed upon by Camp Eder management staff.
  • To complete at least one continuing education event, on an annual basis.

Safety & Supervision:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff, develop and monitor emergency systems, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Manages the facility, training and use of specialized program areas which may include: The Climbing wall.
The Challenge course. Canoes on site and off site Swimming pool 6.
Community & Relationships:
  • Build positive relationships with campers, staff, parents, and guests, creating an inviting atmosphere and fostering a strong Christian community.
  • Assists the Camp Administrator in areas of Camp Marketing and Promotion which may include congregational visits, camp promotion events, preparation of marketing materials and social media.
At Camp Eder, all employees are expected to assist each other in all areas of Camp Ministry. A good Program Coordinator would be a "team player" who is happily willing to assist any other employee in their daily duties when needed or requested. The Program Coordinator represents Camp Eder to the public and should always act and behave accordingly. Servant leadership is expected from all who serve in a leadership role at Camp Eder. On site housing available.
