Inclusive Programming Coordinator Lewisburg YMCA Lewisburg, PA Job Details Part-time $15 - $17 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications CPR Certification Working with individuals with disabilities First Aid Certification Adaptability Stakeholder relationship building AED Certification First aid and CPR Full Job Description Job Summary Under the general direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of inclusive, engaging activities that promote social connection, wellness, and personal growth. This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where all participants feel a sense of belonging and are empowered to participate fully. The Program Coordinator also supports program operations, communication with families and care partners, and ongoing program development in alignment with the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and facilitate inclusive program activities for adults and children with diverse abilities, ensuring all materials, equipment, and space are set up, accessible, and safe. Create a welcoming, respectful, and engaging environment that promotes belonging, social connection, and participant success. Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities, providing individualized support for mobility, communication, and behavioral needs. Coordinate and communicate with volunteers and staff to ensure clear roles, effective program delivery, and post-session debriefs. Maintain program flow while allowing flexibility to meet participant needs and pacing. Monitor participant safety at all times, respond appropriately to concerns or emergencies, and document attendance, incidents, and key observations. Manage program logistics including setup, cleanup, supply inventory, and preparation for future sessions. Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, care partners, and families, supporting open and consistent communication. Communicate regularly with supervisor regarding program updates, needs, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and recommend new activities that support fun, fitness, creativity, and social engagement. Support program administration by sending weekly reminders and monthly schedules. Assist with program promotion through photos, videos, and storytelling in alignment with YMCA policies. Collaborate with leadership to support program sustainability, including tracking supply needs and assisting with sponsorships, grants, and donations. All other duties as assigned by the Branch Executive Director. Skills Experience in special education, behavior support, or related field preferred OR a personal connection/experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to adapt activities to meet diverse participant needs Organized, reliable, and able to work independently Commitment to the YMCA mission and values Must have, or be in the process of obtaining, CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and USA's Child Abuse Prevention Training, and all required clearances. This role directly supports the YMCA's mission by creating meaningful opportunities for adults with diverse abilities to connect, grow, and thrive in a supportive community.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
