Full Job Description Job Description:
The Pre-Release Program Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Project Director to facilitate program courses, monitor participant performance, monitor participant attendance, grade participant homework, and collect and share participant feedback on the effectiveness of the courses/program. The Program Coordinator will work to create a culture of continuous improvement on the housing units and uphold the Pre-Release Programs 5 CORE values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Productivity, and Perseverance using an interfaith approach. Primary Job Duties Oversee program participation from participants including grading homework, managing attendance, facilitation, orientations, and managing the needs of program participants including their release preparedness and conflict resolution Update curriculum for programs as requested by Senior Project Director; teach and monitor classes; and facilitate support groups Develop and maintain relationships with jail administration, officers, community services, and faith communities Create and maintain timely and effective communication with all connected parties Teach the evidence-based curriculum established for our programming Work with volunteers. Work on all data-base programs required, OMS, ACJC, Homework tracker, maintain attendance records. Independently seek out community resources and learning opportunities to foster ongoing professional development. Connect participants to The Foundation of HOPE Re-Entry program and PIRC including regularly being in contact with HOPE staff in those programs. Must be comfortable working in a jail setting and with the inmate population. Prepare graduations. Maintain flexibility and creativity in working in a non-traditional setting to accommodate our participants. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Project Director.
Expectations:
Must agree to and sign a confidentiality agreement with regards to all aspects of client, staff, and agency information. Maintain professionalism in communications, personal interactions and dress. Must be culturally competent and sensitive to all religious worldviews, as well as to the inmate population Be on time for courses, groups, meetings, and punch-in's. Comply with Foundation of HOPE standards, exemplifying the values of the program and its mission Be adept in working in a fast-paced environment Be comfortable working in a correctional/hierarchical setting Maintain flexibility and creativity in working a non-traditional schedule if necessary to accommodate the needs of the program Pass and maintain all necessary clearances Adhere to quality standards and comply with best practices. Quality Assurance and Compliance Comply with Foundation of HOPE standards and policies. Remain culturally competent and sensitive to all individuals and their practices. Complete all paperwork/reports in a timely and professional manner. Commit to professional development. Comprehensive knowledge of the Foundation of HOPE mission, Rules and Regulations at the Allegheny County Jail, and Ethical Practice Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills/Experience Computer skills competency in Microsoft Office Based programs and web-based programs. Good writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills Exemplify the values of the program and its mission Ethical practices Adhere to quality standards and comply with best practices. Comply with Foundation of HOPE standards and policies. Remain culturally competent and sensitive to all individuals and their practices. Complete all paperwork/reports in a timely and professional manner. Commit to professional development, Compassion, empathy and patience. Welcoming demeanor that respects the dignity and life experiences of others. Genuine recognition of the dignity of all people regardless of their history and/or mistakes. Bachelor's degree in human or social services, criminal justice, exercise science, public health, or related field (masters Preferred) At least 3 years' experience in facilitation or working with large groups. Ability to communicate with individuals from a diverse cultural background. Excellent interpersonal skills Strong public speaking and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational & time management skills Must be able to obtain and maintain all Allegheny County Jail, PA Department of Corrections and Act 33 Clearances.
