Job Description

The Aviation Program Coordinator will support leadership in daily operations of the Aviation program. The role assists in flight operations coordination, regulatory compliance, recruiting and retention initiatives, safety initiatives, student services, and strategic program growth and development. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of the Aviation program, external stakeholders, current and potential students, flight instructors, and external aviation partners in order to maintain a high-quality, safe, and industry-aligned aviation program.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership:
Assist the Director and Assistant Director in overall program management, long-range planning, and policy development Coordinate recruiting efforts in satellite program development Oversee daily operations of flight training program/schedules
Student Support and Enrollment:
Assist with student recruitment, orientation, advising, and retention initiatives Support outreach activities, campus events, and industry engagement to program the program
Flight Operations:
Collaborate with flight school to ensure smooth scheduling and training operations Monitor student flight hours and training milestones
Compliance and Safety:
Assist with the creation, review, and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures Participate in internal audits, safety meetings, and risk-mitigation efforts Assist in maintaining records required for accreditation, FAA oversight, and University compliance
Curriculum and Support:
Assist faculty with curriculum planning, course scheduling, and assessment Stay current on industry trends to align coursework with aviation workplace needs
Industry and Community Engagement:
Cultivate relationships with airlines, aviation organizations, and local aviation partners
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the
University Qualifications Required:
Bachelors Degree in Aviation or related field or appropriate work experience coupled with FAA pilot certification (Private Pilot minimum; Commercial/CFI preferred) Demonstrated experience in Aviation training, higher education, or flight operations Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred:
FAA CFI/CFII and/or Part 141 leadership experience Work Environment Office and flight line operations Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities based on program needs Travel to satellite airports Ability to work effectively in a dynamic training environment with faculty, students, and aviation partners Apply for Aviation Program Coordinator online
