We are a private, not-for-profit organization that coordinates public health grants across a 26-county region in central Pennsylvania. We are seeking two part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselors to support the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program. These positions will primarily serve pregnant and breastfeeding clients at Tapestry of Health WIC offices in Bloomsburg, Shamokin, or Shamokin Dam. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic breastfeeding information and support to clients and help them prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills; work independently or in conjunction with other staff and communicate with a wide variety of individuals effectively and tactfully in both verbal and written forms. Previous breastfeeding experience is required (does not have to be currently breastfeeding). Regular local travel within the region (primarily between Bloomsburg, Shamokin, and Shamokin Dam) is required. Primary office location can be established at the candidate's preference of these three locations.
