POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the services of the School Age and Camp programs. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for managing, directing and coordinating the Out of School Time programs. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Manages and implements Keystone STARS, DHS, and CYEDC requirements. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling, and directing personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Responsible for developing, managing, and controlling budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality. Provide and teach strong classroom management skills as you continue to treat each child with respect. Visit classrooms regularly to provide support, visibility and ensure programs are at functioning at high quality levels. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living. Develops and maintains relationships with state childcare licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Provides staff leadership for annual fund-raising campaign and committees as assigned. Maintains proper records/department files. Organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent. One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs. Minimum 2 years (2500 hours) documented child care related experience. Minimum age of 21.
Certifications:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 15 days of hire. Completion of required trainings. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children's activities. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity. Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.
