Job Description
Position Summary CITIED Foundation seeks an experienced Independent Contractor to provide culturally responsive mentorship, postsecondary planning, and youth development services for high school students participating in the Early Birds Social Worker Development Program. The selected contractor will support students as they prepare for life after high school through mentorship, college and career readiness programming, family engagement, and individualized planning support. This role is funded through the Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention (CB-VIP) initiative and is designed to address identified gaps in postsecondary planning and mentorship services for youth in Rockford.
Responsibilities The contractor will:
Facilitate monthly workshops focused on: College planning Career exploration Postsecondary decision-making Transition planning Goal setting Provide individualized mentorship and coaching support to participating students. Engage parents and families to strengthen student success planning. Student success resources Track student participation and outcomes. Submit semester progress reports. Produce an end-of-year impact report including student testimonials and program outcomes. Collaborate with CITIED Foundation staff to ensure services align with grant objectives. QualificationsRequired Experience working with youth ages 14-18. Experience facilitating educational, leadership, mentoring, or workforce development programs. Knowledge of college readiness, career pathways, financial aid, and postsecondary planning. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Experience engaging diverse and underserved populations. Ability to work independently and manage program deliverables. Strong organizational and reporting skills. Preferred Experience serving Black, Brown, historically underserved, and under-resourced youth. Experience developing culturally responsive curriculum. Experience with mentoring programs. Familiarity with violence prevention, youth development, or community-based programming. Experience conducting family engagement activities. Knowledge of Rockford-area youth resources and community systems.
