Immigrant Resource Program Coordinator 652 Suffolk Avenue, Brentwood, NY 11717 Hybrid work $24.03 - $29.45 an hour - Full-time $24.03 - $29.45 an hour - Full-time The Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN) is a non-profit that has served the immigrant community on Long Island for four decades through legal services, community education and advocacy. We seek an engaging, dedicated community leader to the Immigrant Resource Coordinator position. The Immigrant Resource Coordinator is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Overview of the Role CARECEN seeks an engaging, mission-driven community advocate to serve as the Immigrant Resource Program Coordinator for Suffolk County . This full-time position plays a key role in expanding immigrant access to services across Long Island by overseeing program activities, building partnerships, and leading a strong and dynamic volunteer network. The Coordinator will lead the Immigrant Resource Program in Suffolk County, supervise a team of volunteers, and work in close collaboration with the Immigrant Resource Program Coordinator in Nassau County. The role combines strategic program management with hands-on community engagement, requiring leadership, creativity, and a deep commitment to immigrant communities. Primary Duties Continue leading the implementation and refinement of the Immigrant Resource Program in Suffolk County, including setting annual goals, tracking progress, and strengthening program infrastructure. Plan, organize, and effectively execute designated program deliverables including: 10 annual Immigration Information Session Days 10 annual Roundtable Discussions Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers through regular meetings and check-ins to ensure they effectively serve as community connectors and advocates. Maintain regular communication with volunteers to ensure active participation. Represent CARECEN and the Immigrant Resource Program at community events, outreach activities, and networking opportunities across Long Island. Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with libraries, schools, service agencies, government offices, faith-based institutions, and other organizations. Maintain accurate program data and prepare reports for internal use and external funders, including the New York State Office for New Americans. Track the progress towards deliverables of the Immigrant Resource Program and create programmatic data and narrative reports. Attend CARECEN staff meetings & New York State Office for New Americans meetings and webinars, and provide guidance and information on the Immigrant Resource Program as well as issues affecting the broader Suffolk County communities. Qualifications Two years of program management and/or experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers or equivalent experience Experience in community organizing, education or engagement, particularly working with underserved and/or immigrant communities History of and ability to develop effective collaborative relationships with nonprofit orgs, government agencies, and other potential partners Bilingual fluency (oral and written) in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole, or another relevant language Knowledge of Long Island regional dynamics, including socioeconomic, sociopolitical, and direct services available within the region Ability to travel around Long Island for programming events Excellent organization, communication, and computer skills Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
