About UICOMP The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) educates 244 medical students and nearly 300 physician residents annually. It is one of four campuses that make up the nation's largest public medical school. Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Business Administrative Associate for Academic Affairs, the Medical Education Program Coordinator is responsible for the academic and administrative duties in support of the Academic Affairs office. This position will provide coordination support for all course components across the curriculum (Phase 1-3 / M1-M4). This position will support department initiatives and will also be responsible for other co-curricular coordination needs that are administered through Peoria Academic Affairs and span the MD curriculum. Duties & Responsibilities Provides comprehensive professional and administrative support to the Medical Education Academic Affairs leadership team. Assists with coordinating and supporting curricular activities across Phases 1-3, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include assisting with course planning and implementation, managing schedules and communications, and collaborating with faculty and staff to facilitate seamless program delivery. Additionally, generates, analyzes, and maintains reports, attendance, documents, and program data to support decision-making, continuous quality improvement, and compliance requirements. Coordination and execution of student curricular projects and events across all phases of the medical education program. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrative stakeholders to organize timelines, define project scope, and ensure alignment with curricular objectives. Assists in scheduling sessions, securing resources, coordinating logistics (including space, materials, and technology), and communicating event details to students and participants. Monitors project progress and event readiness, troubleshoots issues as they arise, and ensures a high-quality learner experience. Additionally, tracks participation, gathers feedback, and supports post-event evaluation and reporting to inform continuous improvement of curricular offerings. Acts as the Academic Affairs liaison to the Disability Resource Center (DRC), coordinating and facilitating the implementation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations for medical students. Collaborates with the DRC, faculty, and course leadership to ensure approved accommodations are communicated clearly and implemented consistently across all phases of the curriculum. Monitors compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining strict confidentiality of student information. Provides operational and administrative support to the Assessment Coordinator in the planning and execution of student assessments. Assists with exam scheduling, preparation of assessment materials, coordination of testing logistics, and maintenance of assessment systems or platforms. Provides secondary support to the Lead Phase 1 Coordinator and/or Program Coordinator in monitoring and tracking student attendance, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program policies. Assists with identifying attendance concerns, generating reports, and supporting follow-up processes as needed. Supports the coordination and administration of make-up assessments, including scheduling, communication with students and faculty, preparation of materials, and ensuring adherence to established policies and timelines. Contributes to Learning Management System (LMS) administration and compliance by assisting with course setup, content organization, and maintenance of accurate course information. Provides user support to faculty and students, troubleshoots access or functionality issues, and helps ensure that courses meet institutional standards and accreditation requirements. Additionally, supports data tracking and reporting within the LMS to promote consistency, quality assurance, and effective program delivery. Serves as a proctor for in-person and virtual. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below: College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems Work experience totaling one (1) year (12 months) comparable to that gained at the Medical Education Program Specialist level or similar experience within a medical education program.

Completion of the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Programs Certification (TAGME) from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators qualifies applicants for each level of this series.
