Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
The Nurturing Parenting Program Manager is responsible for overseeing evidence-based parenting services, which may be delivered in-home, in the community, off-site, or virtually. The position is responsible for services aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect, particularly for families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). This position supervises staff, ensures adherence to the Nurturing Skills curriculum, manages grant compliance and reporting, and serves as a Lead Trainer. The position provides guidance, coaching, and support to vulnerable families and children in Cook County.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management Program Implementation & Oversight:
Oversee the delivery of evidence-based parenting curricula (16-23 weeks) that focus on empathy, discipline with dignity, and appropriate expectations.
Staff Management & Training:
Supervise staff, provide training, and offer coaching on the Nurturing Parenting model.
Case Management & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) standards, maintain accurate case records, and prepare performance data/reports.
Community Engagement:
Build partnerships and act as the primary liaison with community stakeholders, including local foster care providers and social services.
Fiscal Management:
Manage program budgets and ensure accurate documentation for reimbursement
Program Facilitation Facilitate Sessions:
Lead weekly group or one-on-one sessions using the Nurturing Parenting curriculum to educate parents on appropriate expectations, empathy, and positive discipline.
Family Support:
Build rapport and create a supportive environment to help parents develop nurturing routines and manage stress.
Documentation:
Maintain participant records, manage pre- and post-program assessments (like the AAPI), and complete timely reporting for funding purposes.
Collaboration:
Work with community partners and case managers to support families referred by organizations like the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field; Master's preferred.
Experience:
Must have two (2) years of experience working with at-risk families, providing in-home, community-based, or virtual services, conducting groups, teaching, or instruction in classroom settings, and certification in the Illinois Nurturing Parenting Program, and staff supervision.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with the Nurturing Parenting curriculum, trauma-informed care, and Illinois child welfare systems.
Pay:
