Position Overview The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to effectively able to work independently and be detail-oriented for the Division of Medical Cannabis. Performs complex technical functions within the Medical Cannabis Program, including the interpretation of medical cannabis program guidelines for program eligibility and policies, communicating those to qualifying patients and designated caregivers.

For more information about our benefits please follow this link: https://www2.illinois.gov/cms/benefits/Pages/default.aspxEssential Functions Receives and responds to inquiries on the Medical Cannabis Patient Program and the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program call lines. Composes and keyboards a variety of correspondence and responds to inquiries regarding Medical Cannabis. Assists with the implementation of the mandates of the State program rules and regulations related to the Medical Cannabis Patient Program and the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program by entering information into the database related to persons applying online for Medical Cannabis registration. Develops complex spreadsheets requiring an extensive understanding of the online application program; develops complex macros and writes standard query language commands for spreadsheet manipulation. Reviews mailings received, distributes accordingly to proper personnel, mail program brochures, and instructional procedures for online application processes. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience or two (2) years of independent business experience. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.
