The Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (OEC) is seeking a part-time Research Commercialization Intern for Summer 2026. This position will support a variety of entrepreneurship and commercialization programs within Invent Penn State and will report to the Director of Research Startups. This internship is expected to average 15-20 hours per week during Summer 2026. The intern will provide support for both new and ongoing initiatives related to research commercialization, entrepreneurship programming, and startup support.Responsibilities may include:
- Providing administrative support for entrepreneurship programs and initiatives.
- Assisting with the development of commercialization guidance materials and resources
- Supporting program data collection, organization, and migration.
- Conducting online research related to entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization.
- Using cloud-based tools such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce to support program operations.
- Supporting the NSF I-Corps Program Manager with outreach and communications including recruitment efforts for upcoming regional programs.
- Assisting with projects related to OEC initiatives, including the NSF I-Corps program, Research Commercialization activities, and the Startup Leadership Network.
Required qualifications:
- Completion of at least two years of a four-year degree program by the start of Summer 2026
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Preferred qualifications:
- Interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, or research commercialization
- Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to contribute ideas
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or similar cloud-based tools This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting entrepreneurship and research commercialization programs and to contribute to resources and initiatives that serve researchers, innovators, and startup teams.
