Commercial Drivers License Driver

AP Container / Destination Sanitation South Abington Township / Scranton Area, Pennsylvania AP Container and Destination Sanitation are seeking a dependable and motivated CDL Driver to join our growing waste and recycling operations team. This position involves operating a variety of commercial waste collection vehicles throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania while providing safe, professional, and reliable service to our customers. Position Overview The CDL Driver will safely operate multiple types of waste collection and container delivery vehicles, including: Hooklift dumpster trucks Rear-load garbage trucks Automatic side-load collection trucks Other commercial sanitation and waste equipment as assigned Dumpster and Cart Deliveries Drivers will be responsible for residential, commercial, and construction-related waste collection services, container delivery and removal, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, customer service, and equipment care. Requirements Valid CDL Class A or Class B license required Clean driving record preferred Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening Previous waste industry or commercial driving experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to safely maneuver large commercial vehicles in residential, commercial, and construction environments Responsibilities Operate sanitation and container trucks safely and efficiently Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Complete assigned collection routes and container deliveries/pickups Ensure proper loading, transport, and disposal of waste materials Maintain cleanliness and general condition of assigned equipment Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members Follow all DOT, OSHA, company, and safety regulations Assist with other operational duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience operating hooklift systems or roll-off style equipment Knowledge of local roads and service areas in Northeastern Pennsylvania Mechanical aptitude is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities available Steady, year-round work Opportunities for advancement within a growing local company About Us AP Container and Destination Sanitation are locally owned and operated companies focused on providing dependable waste collection, dumpster, and sanitation services throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
