About Us Hospice SLO County is a non-medical volunteer hospice and community grief center providing support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illness, end of life, and grief — at no cost to those we serve.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Support Group Facilitator to lead grief support groups in our community. This role focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where participants can share, process, and connect. Responsibilities Facilitate grief support groups (in-person and/or virtual) Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and confidential group environment Guide discussions while allowing space for participant sharing Recognize and respond to complex emotional dynamics Collaborate with program staff regarding participant needs Maintain basic documentation and communication Qualifications Background in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field Experience facilitating groups (preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Understanding of grief and bereavement support Preferred Qualifications Licensed or registered (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or associate-level) Experience in hospice, grief, or end-of-life care Trauma-informed approach Schedule Part-time (hours vary) Mix of weekday evenings and/or daytime groups Compensation $25-$35/hour (depending on experience) To Apply Submit your resume and a brief statement of interest.
