Through direct services, advocacy, behavioral health programming, housing support, leadership development, and community-building initiatives, SisTers PGH works to create safer, healthier, and more sustainable futures for Black and Brown trans communities.

Project T is SisTers PGH's transitional housing program specifically designed for Black and Brown trans women experiencing housing instability. The program provides structured, community-centered housing support while helping participants build life skills, financial stability, employment readiness, community connection, accountability, and long-term housing independence.

Project T is not simply a housing program — it is a relationship-based, accountability-centered program rooted in dignity, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and collective community support. Position Overview SisTers PGH is seeking a compassionate, organized, emotionally mature, and community-centered Project T Housing & Program Coordinator to support the daily operations, participant engagement, and overall coordination of Project T.This role serves as a key support position focused on housing coordination, participant accountability, operational oversight, transitional living support, conflict resolution, and community-building for Black and Brown trans women and femmes participating in the program.

The Project T Housing & Program Coordinator works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary support team that includes behavioral health staff, case management support, administrative leadership, and organizational leadership. Core Responsibilities Coordinate participant intake, orientation, move-in, and discharge processes. Conduct participant check-ins and monitor progress within the Project T accountability system. Support conflict resolution using trauma-informed and de-escalation-centered approaches. Facilitate workshops, support groups, outings, and life-skills programming. Support housing transition planning and independent living preparation. Collaborate with behavioral health staff, case management, and leadership. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, landlords, and referral partners. Maintain participant documentation, records, and operational updates. Participate in organizational sustainability, reporting, and program coordination efforts. Work Environment & Transportation Expectations This role primarily supports participants within the Project T transitional housing program but may also require regular work and collaboration at the Stonewall Inn Pittsburgh, SisTers PGH administrative offices, community partner locations, workshops, appointments, outreach events, and other organizational spaces as needed.

The Project T Housing & Program Coordinator may have access to an organizational vehicle for approved participant support activities, transportation coordination, housing-related tasks, community engagement, outreach efforts, and operational responsibilities.

Valid driver's license, safe driving history, and ability to comply with organizational transportation policies preferred. Schedule & Work Expectations This is a full-time salaried position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Standard scheduling is generally Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, participant emergencies, housing concerns, or organizational events as needed.

This role includes on-call responsibilities related to participant and housing support needs.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Understanding of trauma-informed care practices or willingness to learn. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm in high-pressure situations. Experience in direct service, advocacy, housing support, peer support, or related work. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary support team. Reliable transportation and flexibility for occasional after-hours program needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lived experience as a Black trans woman, trans person, LGBTQIA+ person, or person with direct community-rooted experience strongly encouraged. Experience working directly with Black and Brown trans women and femmes preferred. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, public health, or related field preferred but not required. Experience facilitating support groups, workshops, or community-based programming preferred.
