Job Description

Job Title:
Non-Public Schools Program Supervisor Position Summary:
The position is accountable for overseeing the supervision of reading specialists and school counselors within the non-public school setting. This includes formal evaluation of program staff, monitoring quality of services provided to non-public schools, and ensuring high-quality support for students. The role requires effective management of program resources to optimize educational outcomes. The position requires developing and coaching the skills of reading specialists and school counselors, fostering a team that can provide comprehensive support aligned with the unique needs of all students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of services as requested by the administrators of the non-public schools, in accordance with the provisions of ACT 89 and other relevant regulations to ensure that such programs and services are conducted in an effective and efficient manner. 2. Prepare and present professional development activities for Non-Public School Program (NPSP) staff members in order to keep them informed of best educational practices and any changes in laws and regulations in coordination with the assistant program director. 3. Assist in the selection and evaluation of NPSP staff members to ensure that the most qualified persons are employed, retained, and supported. 4. Supervise, observe, and formally evaluate instructional and school counseling staff. 5. Coordinate staff schedules and engage in the daily activities and routines of the field staff. 6. Ensure classrooms are maintained, safe, properly equipped, and assigned so that the continuity of educational activities is not interrupted. 7. Develop and maintain a liaison with school principals to coordinate and maintain quality services. 8. Oversee the implementation of a mentoring program for new staff members in order to be in compliance with PA Department of Education and AIU requirements. 9. Ability to collect, manage, and analyze assessment data and lead professional development activities with staff that support a process of data-informed decision making.
Qualifications:
1. Advanced degree in education required 2. K-12 Principal or other supervisory certificate required 3. Reading Specialist Supervisor / Reading Specialist Certificate preferred 4. Five years (5) experience as a classroom teacher required 5. Prior supervisory or administrative experience preferred 6. Knowledge of educational technology required 7. Demonstrated experience with evidenced based reading and math assessments and interventions required 8. Experience with PA educator effectiveness and evaluation process required 9. Ability to effectively present information and articulately respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, students, business and educational partners, and the general public. 10. Demonstrated leadership skills, data-driven decision-making skills, and ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. 11. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 12. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies. 13. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative member of a team, flexible, creative, and responsible. 14. PA Driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel throughout
Allegheny County Additional Requirements:
1. Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date). 2. School Personnel Health Record (Form
