Job Description

Stand with Trans is currently recruiting people who are interested in co-facilitating some of our support groups. This is a great opportunity for folks to volunteer their time and expertise to serve trans youth and their caregivers!

Program Manager Location:
Remote / In-Person (depending on group)
Hours:
Part-time, approx. 2-6 hours/month per group
Position Summary:
Support Group Facilitators create and hold a safe, affirming space for trans and nonbinary individuals and those in support. Facilitators connect, share experiences, maintain a network of support for attendees of the groups. Facilitators lead monthly peer support groups, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment in alignment with the values of Stand With Trans. This is a volunteer position.
Key Responsibilities:
Commit to one year of facilitation Facilitate monthly peer support groups (typically 90 minutes) Set up and close virtual or in-person meetings Create a respectful, confidential, and affirming space for all participants Encourage equitable participation while managing group dynamics Collaborate with program staff to implement group norms and improvements Maintain group attendance logs and communication with program staff Refer participants to resources or staff if issues arise beyond group scope Attend occasional facilitator check-ins or trainings
Qualifications:
Experience in group facilitation, peer support, mental health, or community work Deep understanding of and commitment to trans and nonbinary communities Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage boundaries and uphold confidentiality Familiarity with trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices Experienced working with Google Suite (i.e. Google Sheets, Docs, Drive) Reliable internet and device (for virtual groups) Reliable transportation (for in-person groups) Must be able to pass a background check Stand with Trans is an equal opportunity employer.
