Flexible; in-person youth programming and occasional evenings/weekends required About the Position Hopewell Music is seeking a Teaching Fellow
•Youth Leadership & Engagement to lead the next phase of our Youth Advisory Council and youth leadership programming. Hopewell has successfully completed its first Youth Advisory Council cohort. We are now looking for someone who can take ownership of the program—coordinating youth, schedules, curriculum, community partners, activities, and two Lead Youth Interns. This position combines youth development, teaching, mentorship, program coordination, and community engagement. The goal is to engage at least 15 youth by June 2027 and provide a meaningful leadership and career-development experience. Key Responsibilities Youth Advisory Council & Curriculum Coordinate and facilitate Youth Advisory Council meetings and activities. Implement Hopewell's youth leadership and career-readiness curriculum. Recruit, engage, and retain youth participants. Help youth turn their ideas into projects, events, presentations, and community initiatives. Coordinate program calendars, schedules, communication, attendance, and follow-up. Partnerships & Community Engagement Build relationships with schools, nonprofits, artists, businesses, and community partners. Coordinate guest speakers, workshops, field trips, career exposure, community service, and other learning opportunities. Represent Hopewell professionally with youth, families, and partners. Program Management Maintain attendance, curriculum progress, participant information, program documentation, and youth feedback. Track program outcomes and stories that can support grants and funder reporting. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a strong youth mentor and facilitator who is also organized enough to manage a program. Experience or interest in youth development, teaching, mentorship, nonprofit organizations, community engagement, arts education, career readiness, or program coordination is preferred. Strong candidates will be dependable, creative, organized, comfortable building relationships, and able to take an idea from planning to implementation . Initial Goals During the first 90 days, the Teaching Fellow will work toward: Establishing the Youth Advisory Council program calendar. Recruiting youth toward a goal of 15+ participants . Beginning delivery of the youth leadership curriculum. Establishing community partners and guest learning opportunities. Taking primary ownership of scheduling, youth communication, facilitation, documentation, and program follow-through. Temp-to-Hire This position begins with a 90-day introductory period at approximately 10 hours per week. Continued employment and potential growth of the position will be based on performance, program needs, funding, and successful development of Hopewell's youth leadership programming. Help us build the next generation of young leaders while creating opportunities for youth to learn, lead, and make an impact in their community.
