Job Description

Vehicle Engineering Program Management Manager The Manager will have the opportunity to lead a portion of our Program Management team at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. In response to the success of our Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands, the team is rapidly growing to lead the expansion of localized vehicle development activities. You will oversee the successful execution of complex vehicle programs and projects, ensuring timely delivery, and achievement of program targets. This is a supervisory position, meaning you will be responsible for directing the daily work, training, and performance of multiple team members.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of program analysts, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive exceptional performanceLead problem-solving activities to find solutions to engineering challenges; leverage competitive benchmarking, business case analysis, cost & weight initiatives, market & customer analysisPrepare and deliver frequent reports to upper- and executive-level managementDrive alignment across organizations; develop one-voice agreement on program issues, features, and specs critical to program viability, N.A. consumer needs, and market successDevelop and implement program management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective execution of projectsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define program objectives, scope, and success criteria, and establish clear project plans and timelinesMonitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery and achievement of program goalsConduct regular reviews of program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to optimize program outcomesEstablish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates on program status, milestones, and key deliverablesManage program budgets, resource allocation, and forecasting activities, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to financial targetsFoster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, professional development, and a culture of continuous learningStay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in program management, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Engineering degreeOverall 10+ years of experience2-5 years of experience in vehicle program management or related field7-10+ years of prior experience in the automotive industryPrior leadership experienceProven record in successfully leading and delivering complex programs and projectsStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional resultsExcellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving innovation and process improvementIn-depth knowledge of program management methodologies, tools, and frameworksExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levelsStrong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple programs and projects concurrentlyResilient, flexible, and able to adapt to rapidly changing business requirementsPassion for discovery and learning; a curiosity that drives you to look beyond the obviousComfort with ambiguous assignmentsCandidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing direct reportsProgram management experience at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplierMaster's degree in Business Administration, Program Management, or related fieldProfessional certifications in program management (e.g., PMP)Familiarity with program management tools and softwareSome domestic and international travel required
