Reporting directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations, the Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a comprehensive Veterans and Military Affairs program. This role is responsible for designing and executing university-wide initiatives that enhance recruitment, retention, and graduation outcomes for military-connected students, while ensuring strong coordination across academic and administrative units. The Director is empowered to innovate, streamline processes, and position USCB as a regional leader in military-friendly excellence. A key connector across campus and beyond, the Director translates policy into action and partnerships into meaningful support for students. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 5 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials None Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred. Prefer knowledge and understanding of specific educational opportunities related to military service (i.e. GI Bill, VA education benefits, etc.). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Attention to detail is critical. Knowledge and familiarity with military terms and organization is required. Demonstrated knowledge in veteran education benefits, compliance, or VA-related coordination. Grant writing, fundraising, or sponsorship development skills required. Military service or extensive professional skills working with military or veteran communities.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with military installations, service members, and military-affiliated organizations across South Carolina, including active-duty bases and the South Carolina National Guard.
