Job Duties Job Duty Campus-Wide Veteran-Friendly Culture & Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to establish and sustain a veteran-friendly campus culture. Serve as the University's senior advocate for veteran and military-connected students, collaborating with academic and administrative leadership to identify and remove barriers to student success. Plan, launch, and manage a Veteran Resource Center and Veteran Lounge. Design and oversee veteran-focused programming, orientations, recognition events, and peer leadership initiatives that foster belonging and engagement. Serve as the primary point of coordination for veteran student needs across Admissions, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Athletics, and academic units. Advocate for veteran students in resolving complex academic, financial, or administrative challenges. Policy, procedure, and program implementation: Improve and ensure that University policies and practices are aligned with the organization's strategic goals of supporting military-affiliated students who attend USCB. Coordinate with the Registrar to supervise the execution of military-affiliated students utilizing Veterans Affairs educational benefits. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15Job Duty Funding Development, Grants, & External Relations:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with military installations, service members, and military-affiliated organizations across South Carolina, including active-duty bases and the South Carolina National Guard. Represent USCB within the military community through participation in key events and oversight of all University military-related activities on and off campus. Additionally, cultivate relationships with individuals, corporations, and organizations that support veteran and military initiatives, in collaboration with University Development.
