Job Description

Title:
Program Coordinator- Respite Reports to: Respite Program Coordinator/Supervisor Part time, hourly, non-exempt
EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT FROM 6
15PM UNTIL 8:45PM some Wednesday nights as well - This position is 4-10 Hours each week with some planning included. We are seeking a candidate who can grow this program, therefore additional hours may be available. Overview of Responsibilities :
Oversees and monitors all aspects of SOS Care's Knights Respite Program. A Program designed for children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and their neuro-typical siblings. The participants enjoy structured recreational and social activities while providing respite to families. Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, accountability of The Knights Respite program and staff.
  • Supervise and train SOS Interns/Volunteers assigned to program
  • Manage program to include intake, waitlists, attendance records and current participant lists.
  • Ensure processes are in place for seamless programming.
  • Ensure all sessions are appropriately staffed and communicate staffing needs to Program Director as needed.
  • Program outreach to recruit new program participants
  • Complete quarterly quality assurance visits and reviews, ensuring quality of programming
  • Prepare and facilitate quarterly staff observations and annual performance reviews.
  • Complete incident reports as needed.
  • Maintain supplies necessary to adequately run the program and order supplies, when necessary, following the approved purchasing policy.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with families, program participants, staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners
  • Maintain regular communication with program participants and families.
  • Collaborate with community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive situations and documentation.
  • Demonstrate all SOS Core values.
  • Attend monthly Level 10 Program meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned. :
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined and presented in the SOS Care Handbook and Program Coordinator Manual.
  • Be available to work on any day/night when the program is in operation.
Current groups are listed below but subject to change based on the need to reduce the waitlist and support more participants. o Teens (13-20) 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 21st Avenue in Myrtle Beach o Teens (13-20) 1st and 3rd Friday at 21st Avenue in Myrtle Beach o Children (5 -11) 2nd and 4th Friday at 21st Avenue in Myrtle Beach o Adults (21+) 2nd and 4th Friday in Murrells Inlet o Adults (21+) 2nd and 4th Friday at Oak Tree Farm in Conway o Children (5-12) 2nd and 4th Friday at Leeds Ave, Charleston
  • Work in each group at least once per month and travel between locations as needed.
  • Maintain open communication with the Program Director and Knights staff.
: The Program Coordinator will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent, or related experience in the field of ASD/ID. Working knowledge and experience in education or psychology is helpful. Multitasking and attention to details are a must. Patience and good communication, both written and orally, are essential. Ability to converse openly and honestly with client's families/guardians is very important to the success of this position. Computer literacy is necessary. A general understanding of ASD/ID is important to understanding the mission of the organization. A love of working with children and adults who have ASD/ID is essential to success of the individual in this position.
