Programs Coordinator Position Location:
Greater Knoxville, TN Area Position Description The Programs Coordinator will be expected to: Independently manage, follow KTNRB protocols for, and regularly report on programs such as Adopt a River Mile, programs with sustainability infrastructure, among others Use Microsoft Office and other applications to track, compile, and create communication graphics on data from managed programs Follow all safety protocols around KTNRB equipment, programs and events Cultivate relationships with program participants through regular communication with individuals as well as consistent program-wide newsletters Contribute to social media platforms following KTNRB branding and communications protocols Organize and run some of the KTNRB volunteer river cleanups; lead extensive volunteer recruitment through community outreach and campaigns using MailChimp or similar apps Take and pass a physical exam, getting cleared to: participate in river cleanups through all weather conditions frequently and repeatedly lift 50 lbs. or more climb in and out of our metal john boats with ease walk on steep inclines and various surfaces endure through river cleanups that take nearly all day ability to drive our 26-foot work boats while transporting volunteers (will be trained to drive boat, but need to have physical ability) Adhere to our organization's tobacco-free policy (no smoking, dip, or vaping in vehicles or at river cleanups) Participate in a background check Ability and willingness to be trained for up to at least one year on many different layers of this crucial position, from organizational branding and communications; to program operations; to safety protocols and policies with river cleanups, fleet, and equipment; to organizational culture Willingness to travel and work at cleanups on weekends, occasionally returning late hours. • This role will directly support the Executive Director and collaborate with our Programs Coordinator and Education & Outreach Coordinator, who work at the same level as the Development Coordinator position Be prepared to step up for other tasks needed to complete our mission Desired Qualifications for Programs Coordinator Bachelor's degree Willingness to participate in a background check High sense of responsibility and priority for safety Agreement to follow our Safety Policy at all times Commitment to getting the job done Squarespace (ability to be trained) Video Production (no prior experience required; studio training will be provided) Social media Microsoft Office Outgoing, energetic personality a must—Be prepared to meet and work with partners and volunteers from all walks of life. You'll be expected to help them to have an unforgettable, positive experience with us! Strong sense of team mentality with the ability to work on your part independently Willingness to follow Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful's policies, outlined company culture, and branding Ability to be trained to drive our truck and haul 26-foot work boat (no prior experience required) Ability to be trained to drive volunteers to shorelines in 26-foot work boat (no prior experience required) Hard work ethic and ability to work in extreme weather of all seasons Flexibility with hours, with crew working beyond 8-hour days when scouting locations for cleanups and working actual cleanup days.
